È difficile districarsi nel mondo dei giovani di oggi, eppure la loro crescita è un compito che li vede impegnati in prima linea, non soltanto emotivamente o cognitivamente, ma anche a livello esistenziale. La loro età è un continuo laboratorio di formazione permanente, un compito generazionale, ma anche una sfida per crescere e formarsi continuamente. Le trasformazioni a cui vanno incontro, i nuovi risvolti relazionali, i molteplici cambiamenti che li investono, possono diventare delle importanti opportunità di crescita non solo per loro ma anche per chi li affianca nel compito educativo. Aiutarli ad esplorare nuove modalità relazionali con il mondo circostante diventa un modo utile per sostenerli nel lavoro di costruzione di un’identità che li renda capaci di orientarsi nel contesto psicosociale con cui vengono a contatto. It is hard to understand the world of today’s youth. Their growth is a task that engages them, not only emotionally or cognitively, but also existentially. Their age is like a laboratory of continuous education, a generational task as well as a challenge to grow and develop continuously. The transformations they have to face, the new relationships they will establish, the many changes they have to meet – all these things can become major growth opportunities not only for them but also for those who guide and educate them. To help them explore new ways of relating with the world becomes a useful way of supporting them in the work of building an identity that will direct them in the psychosocial context in which they live. It is in this living context that the profound vocational aspiration that characterizes their young age can emerge. It will open them to view their growth as a project of life rather than a mere improvement of their well-being and lifestyle.
