Nonostante la disposizione iniziale dei Padri della III Assemblea generale straordinaria del Sinodo dei Vescovi a non limitare il loro dibattito alla problematica dei cattolici divorziati civilmente risposati, sembra che le discussioni durante e dopo la riunione si fossero polarizzate su di quest’argomento. Eppure, come accennò lo stesso Papa Francesco, un tema alquanto importante ma non ugualmente considerato è stato quello dei giovani. L’articolo cerca perciò, in primo luogo, di rilevare i momenti in cui la gioventù è stata direttamente o indirettamente chiamata in causa, sia durante gli interventi sia nei documenti sinodali; e, dopo, di evidenziare la sinergia che dovrebbe attuarsi tra la pastorale giovanile e la pastorale familiare se quest’ultima vuole abilitare le nuove generazioni a vivere il “Vangelo della famiglia” e prevenire situazioni difficili.

Despite the initial disposition of the Fathers during the 3rd Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops not to limit their debate to the issue of divorced and civilly remarried Catholics, it seems that discussions in and beyond the meeting were polarized on this subject. Still, as hinted by Pope Francis himself, a very important issue not equally considered was that of the young people. The present article, therefore, tries in the first place to evidence the different moments in which the youth were directly or indirectly considered during both the discourses and the documents; and, in the second place, to underline the synergy that should take place between youth ministry and family ministry, if a proper pastoral care of the families wants to enable the younger generation to live the “Gospel of the family” and prevent difficult situations.
