Si tratta di considerazioni teologico-sistematiche sul tema della salvezza cristiana, che trova nel mistero di Cristo, nelle sue opere e nelle sue parole, la sua fonte e la sua più completa realizzazione. Gesù Cristo è la pienezza del tempo e il compimento della storia dell'umanità e del cosmo. Egli diffonde nel presente l'opera della salvezza da lui compiuta nel mistero pasquale; avvolge nel suo dominio salvifico tutto il passato; porta a compimento il futuro, che a lui totalmente appartiene (cf. Eb 13,8). Gesù è quindi il salvatore unico e definitivo dell'umanità e tale sua pretesa – che oggi forma l'oggetto della cosiddetta "teologia delle religioni" – viene giustificata dal suo mistero di incarnazione, passione, morte e risurrezione. Nella storia la presenza salvatrice del Cristo continua nella Chiesa, sacramento universale di salvezza per tutta l'umanità.

This contribution is about some considerations of systematic theology on the subject of Christian salvation, which is part of the mystery of Christ, in his actions and words, and which has in him its source and its accomplishment. Jesus Christ is the fullness of time and the fulfilment of the history of humanity and of the universe. He amply dispenses his act of salvation, which he effected in the mystery of Easter, in the present day, he envelops the whole of the past in his dominion of salvation, he fulfils the future, which belongs to him entirely (cf. Eb 13,8 ). Jesus is thus the one and definitive Saviour of humanity and this claim of his, which today constitutes the object of the “theology of religions“ is justified by the mystery of his incarnation, passion, death and resurrection. The saving presence of Christ in history continues in the Church, the universal sacrament of salvation for all humanity.
