La menzione della via pulchritudinis nel recente Direttorio per la catechesi sollecita la lettura attenta del lavoro del Pontificio Consiglio che lo ha prodotto, partendo dalle sue radici nell’insegnamento nell’esortazione Evangelii gaudium, che si dimostra un documento ispiratore per assumere e attuare una comprensione estetica dell’annuncio cristiano e della catechesi. Tale approccio estetico nel Direttorio è ricco di suggestioni, come anche si trova ad essere relativizzato e pure declassato dalla persistenza di certo nozionismo in catechesi, ma offre segnali di buona consapevolezza nel dire del profilo del catechista e della programmazione della sua formazione.

The reference to “via pulchritudinis” in the recent “Directory for Catechesis” invites an attentive reading of the work of the Pontifical Council that has produced it, starting from its roots in the teachings of the exhortation “Evangelii gaudium”, which proves to be the inspirational document for assuming and implementing an aesthetic understanding of the Christian proclamation and catechesis. This aesthetic approach in the Directory is rich in suggestions, even as it is found to be relativized and downgraded too, by the persistence of certain notionalisms in catechesis, but it shows positive signs of awareness regarding the profile of a catechist and planning his or her formation.
