L’articolo analizza il Proemio della Costituzione apostolica Veritatis gaudium circa le università e le facoltà ecclesiastiche, per evidenziare la visione teologica e pedagogica che sottende il documento pontificio. Esso studia i principi teorici che sono alla base dei quattro criteri proposti dalla Costituzione per dare corso al rinnovamento degli studi ecclesiastici richiesti dalla trasformazione missionaria di una Chiesa “in uscita”: l’introduzione esistenziale al cuore del kerygma; il dialogo a tutto campo, non come mero atteggiamento tattico, ma come condizione intrinseca per una cultura dell’incontro; l’inter- e la trans-disciplinarietà esercitate con sapienza e creatività nella luce della Rivelazione; la necessità urgente di “fare rete” tra le diverse istituzioni che, in ogni parte del mondo, coltivano e promuovono gli studi ecclesiastici.

The paper analyzes the Foreword of the Apostolic Constitution Veritatis gaudium on ecclesiastical universities and faculties, in order to highlight the theological and pedagogical vision of the pontifical document. It studies the theoretical principles that give foundation to the four criteria proposed by the Constitution for the renewal of ecclesiastical studies demanded by the missionary transformation of a Church that “goes forth”: the existential introduction to the heart of the kerygma; the wide-ranging dialogue, not as a mere tactical approach, but as an intrinsic requirement for a culture of encounter; inter-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary approaches carried out with wisdom and creativity in the light of Revelation; the urgent need for “networking” between those institutions worldwide that cultivate and promote ecclesiastical studies.
