Il bicentenario della nascita di don Bosco è un’occasione e anche una provocazione per una verifica della vocazione e missione salesiana. Siamo interpellati circa la nostra capacità di stare nel nostro tempo e di interpretarlo; di sentirci parte del mondo giovanile e di comprenderlo; di saper indicare ai giovani una via di evangelizzazione ed essere in grado di accompagnarli. Papa Francesco nella Evangelii gaudium ci ha detto che per vivere una «stagione evangelizzatrice» «audace, piena di amore fino in fondo e di vita contagiosa» deve ardere «nei cuori il fuoco dello Spirito» (Eg. 261). Il terzo paragrafo della presente riflessione cerca di indicare come si può essere “evangelizzatori con Spirito” sulle orme di don Bosco.

The bicentenary of the birth of don Bosco is both an opportunity and a provocation to verify the Salesian vocation and mission. We are confronted by the question of our ability to live in this present age and to interpret it; to feel ourselves part of the world of young people and understand it; to indicate a way of evangelization to young people and to be capable of accompanying them. Pope Francis in the Evangelii gaudium has told us that in order to live a “season of evangelization” which is “bold, totally filled with love and a life which is contagious” “the fire of the Spirit must burn in their hearts” (Eg. 261). The third paragraph of this reflection attempts to indicate how we can be “evangelizers with the Spirit” in the footsteps of don Bosco.
