Accompagnare i giovani per aiutarli a realizzare il loro progetto di vita è il senso ultimo dell’agire educativo. Tenendo presente alcune considerazioni a partire dal tema dal prossimo Sinodo dei Vescovi, il contributo mette in luce le principali coordinate normative che il Codice di Diritto Canonico prende in considerazione circa l’educazione dei giovani. Il tema è esaminato a partire dalle finalità che la “vera educazione” vuole raggiungere e si concentra sulle dimensioni della personalità verso le quali si riferisce l’agire educativo. Il contesto culturale in cui i giovani sono inseriti necessita di proporre cammini che abbiano come meta la formazione di coscienze libere e radicate nella Verità: la vigente normativa, come anche i più recenti interventi magisteriali, offrono una risposta al rischio educativo che la Chiesa ha il dovere di assumere.

The ultimate goal of education focuses towards accompanying the youth so that they can realize their life project. While keeping in mind some considerations from the theme of the next Synod of Bishops, the contribution highlights the main interconnected norms established in the Code of Canon Law concerning the education of the youth. The theme examines the aims that the “true education” wishes to achieve and focuses on personality dimensions proper to education of the youth. The cultural context in which the youth find themselves ought to propose concrete ways proper to the formation of human conscience and rooted in the Truth. The current legislation, as well as the most recent magisterial interventions, offer a response to educational risk that the Church has the duty to accede.
