Esiste una lunga storia dei diritti del bambino e quindi del diritto all’educazione. Per questo in una cultura diversa da quella in cui sono stati elaborati è lecito interrogarsi sul tipo di educazione che dovrebbe essere data a un bambino. Nell’Africa tradizionale i bambini ricevevano una formazione completa: intellettuale, morale, sessuale, religiosa, pratica per una giusta integrazione nella società. Avevano diritto a un nome, a una famiglia, ecc. È lo stesso oggi nella società africana? La scuola educa gli africani per inserirli nella loro cultura e nella cultura mondiale?

There is a long history of the rights of the child and thus the right to education. Therefore, it is permissible, in a culture different from that in which they were prepared to question the type of education that should be given to a child. In traditional Africa children receive a holistic formation: intellectual, moral, sexual, religious, practice for proper integration into society. They were entitled to a name, a family, etc. Is this the same in the African society of today? Does the school educate Africans in view of inserting them into their culture and world culture?
