Filone di Alessandria crede in Dio creatore eppure in suo scritto accoglie la tesi aristotelica dell’eternità del mondo. Il sistema di sfere concentriche era complicato ed era durato poco, ma le argomentazioni aristoteliche a difesa dell’eternità del mondo avevano messo in crisi i platonici e gli stoici, Filone prima vi aderisce e poi cerca di sottrarsi ai limiti di quella tesi tramite l’interpretazione allegorica della Bibbia.

Philo of Alexandria believes in creative God yet in one of his writing he accepts the Aristotelian thesis of the eternity of the world. The system of concentric spheres was complicated and few had lasted, but the Aristotelian reasonings to defence of the eternity of the world had put in crisis the platonic ones and the stoic ones, Philo first supports that and then he tries to escape to the limits of that thesis through the allegorical interpretation of the Bible.
