Secondo Plotino, ogni uomo realizza pienamente se stesso e la concordia con gli altri nel ritorno all’Uno. La prima via è quella della virtù, necessaria per la purificazione interiore. Un’altra via è quella dell’arte, per riscoprire la bellezza. La via dell’amore è indispensabile per la vitalità, la forza interna della ricerca. La via della dialettica garantisce il passaggio dal mondo sensibile a quello intelligibile. Il vertice di queste vie consiste nella semplificazione, ossia nella disponibilità totale all’Uno.

According to Plotinus, every man fully realizes himself and the harmony with the others in the return to the One. The first way is that of virtue, necessary for the internal purification. Another way is that of art which leads to the rediscover beauty. The way of love is essential for vitality, the internal power of any quest. The way of dialectics guarantees the transition from the sensitive world to the intelligible one. The vertex of these ways consists in the simplification, or rather in the total availability to the One.
